The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. with
a quorum present.
The Committee interviewed two engineering
firms, Appledore Engineering, Inc. and Norway Plains Associates, Inc. for the
field development project contract.
Mr. Greg Mikolaities
of Appledore presented to the committee:
Their firm has developed many different athletic field in the area,
and have great references. They have
some experience in selling gravel from a property they are developing. Further study is needed to see what the
gravel might generate for income.
The Committee is willing to wait for a
contractor that needs the gravel if that would result in more revenue.
Mr. Don Rhodes of Norway Plains presented
to the committee: Mr. Rhodes discussed
the information that he knows about the property. He presented a schematic that showed how
two practice soccer fields could fit into the property. He stated that test pits would be needed to
be evaluated for the amount and quality of the gravel. He also stated that most of the gravel should
be removed from the area, once you begin.
Otherwise, you would need to make additional provision to keep the
property safe.
The Committee decided to wait until the February 7, 2008
Building Committee meeting to make a recommendation to the Board.
Mr. Watson moved, second by Dr. Pastelis, to
adjourn the meeting at 6:30
p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
