The Chair called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. with a quorum present.

Paraprofessional Training Update

Mr. Hemingway informed the Committee of plans to continue paraprofessional training in conjunction with Granite State College. Mike Hatfield will be teaching an online hybrid course on special education procedures as our next offering. All paras are eligible to participate in the program utilizing existing course reimbursement guidelines.

Curriculum Development Report

Mrs. Riley led the Committee through an exercise on change process and school improvement. Slides are attached of her presentation.

Other

Freshman Academy Report – Mr. Watson inquired about the status of the Freshman Academy study conducted by SERESC. Mr. Hemingway indicated that when the final report was delivered, he would distribute it to Instruction Committee members for inclusion in the next available session.

PLATO – Mr. Watson inquired about students’ level of success after completing a PLATO credit recovery module. Mr. Hemingway will gather data from student completers as to their achievement in the next level of a particular subject.

At 8:10 pm, Mr. DeVito moved, second by Mr. Watson, to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
