The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with a quorum present.

The Board reviewed the budget for personnel.  The discussion focused upon the budget that includes current personnel.  The current personnel budget includes an increase in salaries and wages for current staff of 1.7 million dollars, and Health Insurance of $500,000.   This covers most of the 6.3% increase in the personnel budget; $80,000 for new Aide positions approved during the school year is included in the budget increase.

The Committee then reviewed the new staff requests.  They focused on positions recommended by the Management Team, specifically the Instructional Dean, Guidance Director, teaching positions, and a High School Aide increasing to 35 hours.

Mr. Connelly moved, second by Mrs. Grassie, to recommend the following positions to the Personnel Budget:  Instructional Dean (recommended to name the position Assistant Principal, job description can be as presented); Guidance Director; ½ time Spanish Teacher.   This will increase the budget by $128,638.

Mrs. Stevens amended the motion, second by Mrs. Parker, to also include the increase of one aide at the High School from 27.5 hours to 35 hours.  The amendment was approved unanimously.

The increase is now at $150,503.  The motion as amended carried unanimously.

Mr. Connelly moved, second by Mr. Allen, to adjourn.  On a unanimous vote, the Committee adjourned 6:20 p.m.

                                                                                                Respectfully Submitted,
