To the Parents/Guardians of Kindergarten-Age
Children:
The Rochester School District offers the opportunity for 228 students to attend full-day kindergarten classes. The full-day session is from 8:30 am to 2:15 pm. Selection for a full-day kindergarten class is done by lottery ~ from all those interested who have registered during the previous spring. The student ID numbers are drawn on a pre-determined date and assigned to the full-day kindergarten openings. The others from the lottery go onto a waiting list for full-day placement, as openings become available.
There are also half-day kindergarten classes available. The morning sessions run from 8:30 am to 11:00 am and the afternoon classes are from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm
