Sunscreen and Bug Spray

Just a friendly reminder that the nicer weather is upon us and some classes may spend more time outside in the sun and with the bugs. The schools and nurses do not provide sunscreen and bug spray for a couple of reasons. First, it can be applied at home and typically lasts the school day. Secondly, some people are allergic to the ingredients in sunscreen and/or bug spray. We  don’t always receive notification from parents regarding these allergies, so it is safest for you, the parent/guardian to apply these products at home. If it is a nice sunny day, you may want to consider putting sunscreen and bug spray on your child before sending them to school as well as send them to school with a hat. The sun has become very strong and we are already seeing some kids with sunburns which increase their chances for skin cancer. Enjoy the nice weather and be sun safe!
