We would like to invite all parents and care-givers to our next P.T.O. meeting on Tuesday, March 16th at 6:30pm. (Childcare provided) Please join us!
On that note, be on the look out for information regarding the spring fundraiser!!!

Our Box Tops coordinator and Walking Club volunteer, Mrs. Singletary is moving to Florida with her family. We bid them a fond farewell.
If a parent/ caregiver is interested in taking over either the collection of the Box Top and Campbell Soup labels or volunteering to stamp cards during our Walking Club,
please see Mrs. Lacroix in the office.

PBIS Update: BE Safe BE Kind BE Responsible
Increase Respect! Have Fun! That was the mantra at our School in February. A small paper heart was presented to students when they demonstrated respectful behaviors. The colored hearts were collected and displayed in each grade’s candy jars on the cafeteria bulletin board.
A few examples of respectful behaviors were: Using Kind word and actions - lend a helping hand – use appropriate language.
Grade four was the winner with the most hearts in their candy jar. They won a special movie afternoon, choosing Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone. Their ultimate act of Respect and Kindness was to invite Grade 2 & 3 to join them in watching the movie.
Rubee, the Queen Bee decided K and Grade One also showed hundreds of respectful behaviors. Students enjoyed watching a movie called Everybody’s Hero.

School Street School is partnering with the Cocheco River Watershed Coalition, the UNH Stormwater Center and the Rochester DPW to decrease rainwater runoff that flows into Willow Brook. This grant allows for “rain gardens” to be installed out back between the tar and the grassy area, rain barrels to collect water off the roof and a sidewalk upgrade out front. The various components of the grant will be presented to the Building Committee on March 8th at 6:00pm.

S.A.S.S. Presentation

On Tuesday, March 2nd, the educators from Sexual Assault Support Services will be here to present their annual body safety puppet show. Each grade will have a presentation which teaches body safety rules in an age- appropriate and engaging way. Students will have hand-outs to bring home for families to review. We want all of our students to be safe and knowledgeable! Funding for this program in the Rochester Schools has been provided through the Safe & Drug Free Schools Grant.
