GBCB
STAFF CONDUCT AND ETHICS
General Conduct
The Board reaffirms one of the oldest beliefs in education: One of the best methods of instruction is that of setting a good example.
The Board expects that the entire staff will strive to set the kind of example for the students that will serve them well in their own conduct and behavior, and contribute toward a school atmosphere that is friendly, but has a degree of formality.
Ethical Behavior
Teachers are expected to abide by the established ethics of the profession. This implies common sense conduct at professional and social levels. The personal appearance of teachers is important. Clothing should be neat and in good taste. Extreme in any area should be avoided.
Sick leaves and personal leave provisions are established for the good of the group as well as for the individual. Abuse of these allowances is detrimental to the profession as a whole.
