CARE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY BY STUDENTS

Students will be held responsible for proper care and return of books and all other school-owned materials issued to them. Textbooks must be covered; students must pay for all books and school materials that are damaged or lost. All student fees shall be paid in a timely manner. Students who have failed to pay for damaged and/or lost books or materials at the end of any semester or from a previous semester or school year will be subject to the following sanctions:

• Report cards will be withheld
• Graduating Seniors will not be permitted to receive their diplomas at the graduation ceremony with their class
• Loss of eligibility to participate in or attend any and all extra-curricular activities such as club meetings, dances and proms, sports events, concerts, etc.
• Loss of eligibility for senior privilege
• Loss of eligibility for a parking sticker and/or other parking privilege on school property (tickets and fines will be issued for violations of this provision).
• If the value of the item warrants, a claim may be made in Small Claims Court.

Privileges that have been withheld will be restored as quickly as is administratively practical upon payment of fees. Building administrators may suspend sanctions if a reasonable payment schedule is approved, implemented, and partial payments are made on schedule. Sanctions will be reinstated immediately upon default from a payment plan.
