Answers to your Questions

Having problems with a district computer?
Need technical support?

You need to take the following steps:
How do I get a new PC?
  • New PC's are budgeted on a yearly basis.  There are many types of funding
sources (grants, donations, capitol improvement, and operational budgets).
CIC works with district administrators to find viable solutions.  Submit a
request to be included in these budgets.
What if I need access to certain programs, such as grading, finance, etc?
  • The CIC can assist with the correct Point of Contact to gain access.
How do I get an email account?
How do I get a Phone?
  • Each school building has a limited number of phones.  Access to phones is
determined by the building principal or your supervisor.
What do I do if I am new to the District?
All software and hardware purchases must be approved by the CIC.
  • Fill out Hardware/Software Request (CIC form 2) and submit your planned purchase to the CIC for technical approval before you commit to any purchase. This includes all expenditures regardless of source.
Donations of computer equipment or software.
  • All donated equipment or software must be approved by the CIC.
  • All donations must be fully compatible with our network, hardware, and software.
  • Be aware that ....some companies/organizations are 'dumping' old equipment on school districts for two reasons: a tax write-off, and to rid themselves of the financial/legal aspects of computer disposal. Old computers contain hazardous material that simply cannot just be thrown into the trash. People involved with illegal disposal of computer equipment are subject to the Comprehensive Environmental Response Liability Act (CERCLA) otherwise known as the Superfund Act. If caught, there are some serious fines.
  • See donation guide for further information.
  • Fill out the Donations Form (CIC form 4) and submit it to the CIC for approval.
Computers and Communications Policy Statement
Each school district employee/volunteer needs a signed statement in their personnel file. The original signed statement needs to be forwarded to the SAU's personnel department to be placed in their personnel file. Principals are encouraged to keep copies too. New employees will be required to sign the statement during their in processing at the SAU office. Review the Policy Statement.
