Dear Nancy Loud School Families,

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! There is a lot of excitement ahead of us, including new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to meet and new skills to master.

Our Open House will be held on Monday, August 28th from 3:00pm to 4:30pm, here at NLS. This will provide an opportunity for parents and students to come in and meet their new teachers for the year and receive a tour of the school.

Our PTA will also be set up to talk with returning and new parents. We will also have a Girl Scout representative for those interested in joining. This is a great opportunity for parents to come in and sign up to be a part of the PTA and be even more involved with our school community!

I would like to welcome the following amazing people who will be joining our staff this year!
Rhonda Campbell – Special Education Teacher, campbell.r@rochesterschools.com
Karen Kronenberg – 2nd Grade Teacher, kronenberg.k@rochesterschools.com
Meghan Walkama – 4th Grade Teacher, walkama.m@rochesterschools.com
Marcey Buchakjian-Tweedy – Art Teacher buchakjiantweedy.m@rochesterschools.com
Cheryl Flanagan – Para-Educator

We will be continuing our PBIS and positive school attendance programs this year. Our school’s goal and mission is to provide a supportive, positive, and efficient education for all of our students. Please keep a look out for new information regarding our PBIS program! We are excited to offer some educational evenings for our parents and students as well this year. I encourage all to attend to learn more about what we do in our school community and how we can continue to support the children as they progress through their education. Event notices will be sent home throughout the year, so please remember to check your child’s backpack daily!

My goal is to continue providing a safe and productive learning environment for your children and our staff. I always welcome the opportunity to meet and work with you; please do not hesitate to contact me if any questions, comments, or concerns arise throughout the year. Each student will receive an envelope of information including school handbooks, information about our breakfast and lunch program, a copy of our school traffic pattern for safe student drop-off and pick-up and our school calendar. If you are unable to attend our open house, this information will come home with your child on the first day of school.

School will be in session Wednesday, August 30 through Friday, September 1. No school on Monday, September 4th. Classes will begin again on Tuesday, September 5th.

Thank you for your commitment to your child’s education. Together we can inspire children to do their best and achieve wonderful things. I look forward to seeing and meeting you at the beginning of our new school year!

Sincerely,
Dr. Erin Mahoney
