Olympics have been a part of Rochester Middle School program since the school opened in 1991. It is organized by the Physical Education staff in cooperation with the Unified Arts Department. The Olympics follow the official two year cycle. Grade levels 6th, 7th and 8th participate in Olympic events on separate days. The opening ceremonies begin with the teams entering the gym sporting their specially designed Olympic T-Shirts and carrying banners of countries represented. This is followed by the lighting of the torch, reading of the oath and the playing of the National Anthem by our Middle School Band. LET THE GAMES BEGIN !

The teams perform 10 events throughout the morning culminating with an award ceremony and closing remarks.
