| Your task
is to create a brochure that would attract people from Europe
to come and settle in one of the 13 original colonies by
informing them of the lifestyle and culture that awaits their arrival. |
| REQUIREMENTS: To
do this you must include the following information: |
| 1. " The founder of the
colony " |
| 2. The date the colony was
founded |
| 3. " The main religion of
the colony" |
| 4. The geographical information
of the colony |
| 5. " The climate of the
colony " |
| 6. The government of the
colony |
| 7. " The natural resources
that can be found within the colony " |
| 8. The Native American groups
from that region |

| PICTURES: For each
of these areas you will need to write one paragraph of information and include
one picture. One of your pictures
must be a map of your colony. |
| PERSUADE - CONVINCE:
The purpose of the brochure is to convince people to come to your colony.
Therefore, in each of your paragraphs you will need to mention why your
colony would appeal to settlers. |

| A cover (with name of colony
and picture) |
| A bibliography (on back
of brochure) |

| COMPUTER/ HISTORY PROJECT:
These brochures will be done on the computer in the computer
lab during class time, however outside research may be necessary. |
| PARTNERS:
You will be working with a partner on this project. Elements
that are required should be split up evenly to ensure not one person does
more or less work than their partner. |
| GRADING:
You will be graded on the following: " Brochure has name,
academic and date (5 points) " Brochure has all the required areas (50 points)
" Brochure has accurate facts and pictures (20 points) " Brochure has correct
spelling and grammar (5 points) " Brochure is technically correct (10 points)
" Bibliography is done in correct format (10 points) |

templates. They are in WORD format. One partner opens the front
template and the other the inside
template. But each student is responsible for 1/2 the material
required. To Print out a copy of the directions
