Sixth Grade ART View 6th Grade Artwork

The goals of the sixth grade Art program provide opportunities for students to develop skill and knowledge in drawing, sculpture and ceramics. Each of these areas of art is based around the Elements of Art (line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space). A variety of materials, techniques, and processes are explored, along with the introduction of skills to analyze the visual arts in relation to history and culture. Each student is introduced to the art careers in today’s world and is encouraged to demonstrate good craftsmanship, creative thinking and problem solving. Effort is recorded daily and projects are evaluated.
Seventh Grade ART View 7th Grade Artwork
The goals of our seventh grade art program are to further the investigation of the Elements of Art and introduce the Principles of Design (balance, unity, rhythm, harmony, repetition, contrast, and proportion). The students create projects such as a paper relief, a creative color wheel, and clay projects. Another important aspect in art class is the use of vocabulary in the context of art history. Students are encouraged to obtain a higher degree of craftsmanship in their projects. The exploration of different media, is an area of concentration.

Eighth Grade Art View 8th Grade Artwork
The goal of the eighth grade art program is to set a higher standard for skills, techniques and processes performed by the student. Projects presented at this level involve more advanced skills and techniques. Projects also require the student to follow through on a given multi-step process. Four basic studies will be explored in eighth grade: painting, printmaking, drawing/commercial art, and ceramics/sculpture.
