Grading System
Student performance is graded on the following numerical scale:
Competent work of special distinction: 93-100 (A)
Commendable work: 85-92 (B)
Satisfactory work: 77-84 (C)
Work of the lowest passing grade: 70-76 (D)
Base-level competencies not achieved: 0-69 (F), no credit
Passing: "P"
Failure, no credit: "F"
Incomplete: "I"
Withdrawal (while passing): "W"
Withdrawal (while failing): "WF"
Grade point average (GPA) is the total number of grade points accumulated,using the weighted scale shown below, divided by the total number of creditsattempted. A weighted scale is used to reward students who challenge themselvesby taking more rigorous classes. A student's class rank is determined by
their cumulative GPA. Transfer grades are not calculated into GPA.

NOTE: Many colleges will convert a prospective student’s GPA to a 4.0 scale. Your GPA will be lower when converted to a 4.0 scale.
To earn High Honors recognition for a given marking period, a student must earn no grade below 93 in any course (except in Honors or Advanced Placement courses - in which they must earn no grade below 91) and must beenrolled in a minimum of three full courses. To earn Honors recognition for a particular marking period, a student must earn no grade below 85 in any course and must be enrolled in a minimum of three full courses.
To be inducted into the National Honor Society, students must have a GPA of at least 4.0, no failing grades, no more than one "D," community service experience, leadership potential, and no incidences of character issues (such as academic dishonesty). Once inducted, requirements to remain in the NHS include maintaining a GPA of 4.0 or higher with no D's or F's of any kind, five hours of community service each quarter, ten hours of community service over the summer, regular attendance at meetings and events, and no character issues or school discipline pro recognition in the following honor societies: Richard W. Creteau Regional Tech Center National Technical Honor Society (recognizing students for outstanding achievement in career and technical educationM and promoting the ideals of service, leadership, and educational excellence).
