Hello! My name is Kristen Syphers and I will be the new K-5 Technology teacher at
McClelland Elementary (M-Th) and Nancy Loud School (F). I am beyond excited to be
back in the classroom after taking time to raise my two daughters, Julia, 16 years and
Anna, 14 years. My husband, Eric, and I live in Greenland, NH in an 1812 Colonial
home which we have been restoring ourselves. It has been a long journey, but one in
which we’ve learned a lot about house renovations and restoration. It is far from
finished, but we’re not certain “finished” will ever be a word we can use with an old
home. When I’m not working on the house, you can find me in one of my gardens or
working my beehive. I am passionate about gardening and growing vegetables and
flowers. It is truly my source of meditation and relaxation.
I am looking forward to meeting my colleagues and working with each of you and your
students. Technology has paved the way for newer, alternative avenues of learning, as
well as a multitude of tools to design presentations and express learning. I am eager to
guide the students of McClelland and Nancy Loud Schools on this journey to think
critically and creatively in this ever-evolving, technological world we are living in.
