Today, we kick off by wearing your most festive socks!
Tomorrow, dress as your favorite holiday character.
Any student interested in drama club, there will be a meeting this afternoon from 5:30 - 6:15 pm for students and their parents/guardians.
There will be an important meeting for members of National Junior Honor Society in Room 116, this afternoon, December 15th, from 2:30 to 3:30. We will be beginning our work on creating a new Holiday Bulletin Board display as well as planning for our Winter Holiday Service Activity. Mr. L looks forward to seeing you!
The next meeting of the student council will be tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16, from 2:30-3:30. We look forward to seeing you there!
Today we're starting the second round in the Holiday Movie Madness voting and it's "Christmas Vacation" versus "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Don't forget to come down to the library to vote during an independent work time or your lunch time. Also from the library, all Holiday Book Giveaway orders need to be in by this Friday so that the library elves can get the books to you before holiday break. Remember to choose one or two books so that we can have enough for everyone and happy reading!

❄️ Keep Everyone Safe This Winter! ❄️
Cold weather is here—make sure everyone stays safe, warm, and healthy as temperatures drop.
Here are a few quick tips:
🧥 Layer up. Several thin layers work better than one heavy coat.
🧣 Protect extremities. Hats, gloves, and warm boots are essential.
⏱️ Limit time outdoors in extreme cold or wind chills.
🚗 Car seat safety: Avoid bulky coats under harnesses—use blankets over the straps instead.
💧 Stay hydrated. Kids need fluids even in cold weather!

In yesterday's Holiday Movie Madness voting, "Home Alone" was the unanimous choice over "Jingle All The Way" to move on to the next round. Today you'll be voting in the last matchup in the first round and it's a doozy!! Today's matchup is "A Christmas Story" versus "The Polar Express" and I expect the voting totals to be close on this one so make sure to come to the library during your lunch or an independent work time to vote. Also from the library, the Great Holiday Book Giveaway continues through next Friday so if you haven't chosen any books, make sure to get your orders in! Please choose only one or two books so that we can make sure to have enough for everyone. If you have any questions or problems, please see Mrs. Sturtevant in the library and happy reading!

Hello RMS Families! ❄️👢
With the winter and cold season upon us, we are asking for extra support with winter boots. RMS is hosting a Winter Boot Drive to collect new or gently used winter boots for students and families in need.
If you’re able to donate, we would greatly appreciate it! Sizes—6 through 13 for men and women—are helpful. Your generosity will make a big difference in keeping our students warm and supported this season.
Thank you for being such a caring and supportive community! 💙

TEEN NIGHT is happening tomorrow Saturday, December 6, 2025. This program is sponsored by the Rochester Police Department and hosted at the Rochester Recreation Center.
TEEN NIGHT is open to all Rochester students in grades 6 through 12, up to age 17. We provide free food (usually pizza), entertainment, guest speakers, movies, games, and access to the open gym.
While TEEN NIGHT is not a school-sponsored or school-hosted event, we do take into account each student’s behavior and participation both in and out of school when determining eligibility to attend. Attendance, truancy, in-school and out-of-school suspensions, and any negative police contacts are all considered as part of this process.
Our goal is to create a positive and enjoyable environment for students who make good choices and demonstrate respect toward others. We want to reward positive behavior and promote responsibility within the community.
TEEN NIGHT is staffed entirely by volunteers, including myself (Sgt. DeLuca), other Rochester police officers, members of the Recreation Department, and invited guests. Because we volunteer our own time on weekends to make this event possible, we want to ensure it remains a safe, fun, and meaningful experience for everyone involved.
All participants must register online prior to attending, the link is in the attached flier.
We’re looking for good kids who make great decisions to join us at TEEN NIGHT! Please remind your child that positive behavior throughout the month at school and in the community will determine their eligibility to attend.
We look forward to seeing your child there.
