Spaulding High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Officers Attend National Fall Leadership Conference

Rochester School District, November 13, 2023:  11 Spaulding High School FBLA Officers attended the National FBLA Fall Leadership Conference in Providence, RI this month. This was the first time the National Conference had been held on the East Coast in over 20 years.

Besides Spaulding, students from Merrimack Valley, Coe-Brown, Prospect Mountain, and Kingswood High School were also in attendance.  The National Conference had over 700 attendees representing 31 States.

Students were able to attend multiple workshops on career development, college planning, financial literacy, business skills, and more. Several students participated in a workshop that had them create a new business and pitch the idea to judges in 90 minutes.  Noah Crosby and Corey Dawes collaborated with FBLA students from Missouri, New York, and Connecticut to win the Business World Competition.

Overall, the students agreed that networking with other students from different states was their favorite experience at the conference and helped to motivate them to share the benefits of FBLA with others.

Created in 1937, FBLA is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world.  To learn more, follow Spaulding FBLA on Instagram, @spauldingfbla. Any questions about FBLA, please contact FBLA Advisors, Leah Taylor, taylor.l@sau54.org, or Angela Lattime, lattime.a@sau54.org.
